Shopping and dining in Jackson Hole run the gamut. At valley outlets, one can find high-couture western wear that costs thousands of dollars or pairs of Wranglers at bargain prices.
Diners can enjoy food in nationally recognized restaurants that feature award-winning cuisine, or they can head to a chuck wagon cookout and enjoy barbeque and beans outdoors with Teton views.
The retail outlets in the valley range from a general store in Wilson that sells everything from snow boots to pasta, to boutiques in downtown Jackson that feature precious stones, fossils and other natural wonders. Much of the shopping is concentrated around the Town Square, a fun place to walk and see Jackson history.
Throughout town, art collectors can visit the numerous galleries that make Jackson Hole one of the top art sales markets in the U.S.
The wide range of restaurants makes it easy to entertain in the valley. Teton County Public Health oversees 96 full-service restaurants, 85 locations to get fast or preprepared foods and 12 caterers.
While those who lived in the valley decades ago remember how difficult it was to get fresh produce and fish, times and the modern economy have changed and now the valley is replete with European cheeses, fresh fruits and vegetables and even fresh bread.
