While not the exact center, the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Aerial Tram signifies the spiritual center of Teton Village. From the base facility, two red boxes rise 4,139-vertial feet to the top of Rendezvous Bowl. Summer or winter, it is an amazing vista.
The tram, as a central symbol, represents a community rich in recreational opportunities. The lifts at the resort offer access to some of the world’s most famous in-bounds and out-of-bounds ski and snowboard terrain. From the resort, recreators can access Grand Teton National Park.
Those staying at the base of the mountain have to venture just a mile north, by car, bike, horse or foot to reach the park’s southernmost entrance.
With the addition of the Shooting Star development, Teton Village now features a golf course. The private, Tom Fazio-designed course does offer access to Teton County residents on Tuesdays.
Properties range from estates to condominiums. Buyers can find free-standing homes or they can purchase dwellings within some of the luxury resorts. Some properties also feature fractional ownership.
As Teton Village continues to grow, it has become more and more of a community unto itself, and not just an outlier to the west bank and Jackson. With a host of restaurants and shops, “The Village” – as locals call it – serves as a base for a range of recreational pursuits and as a place to live after outdoor fun.
